Mtskheta – Mountainous ancient city with rich architectural monuments and archaeological findings. The archaeological material confirms that here, the settlement existed even in 3rd – a 2nd millennium in the BC. There was a silk road that connected East and West countries with each other. The Jvari Monastery – distinguished with its architectural monuments, it was built in the 6th century on the top of a mountain, overlooking the beautiful panorama of the city. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (The Cathedral of the Living Pillar) – The temple is built in the 11th century. According to historical sources, the robe of Christ and cloak of Elijah the prophet are buried here. In the 11th century, the Samtavro Monastery was built in the place where Christianity was preached (4th century) then spread throughout Georgia by Nino from Cappadocia.
Gori – One of the oldest cities. Archaeological samples, dated back to 3rd millennium BC and first millennium BC, are found here. There is a Gori Fortress in the city center, which is built in the first millennium BC and restored in the 17th century. Also, one can find the I. B. Stalin museum, preserving his personal belongings and manuscripts, in the city center.
Uplistsikhe is a cave town 10 km. away from the city, dating back to the first millennium BC. Here you can find streets, houses, tunnels, squares, and towers exposed in the stone.

Mtskheta - Gori - Uplistsikhe
The tour represents sightseeing of the historically significant parts of Georgia, which is Mtskheta, located near to Tbilisi and Uplistsikhe in Gori.
At 10 a.m. we pick you up from the hotels in Tbilisi and take our way toward Mtskheta that is a small, and lovely town near to Tbilisi, the way from Tbilisi takes around 40 minutes. Mtskheta is a small historical town that is interesting to explore. We will arrive around 11 a.m. Here in Mtskheta, we will overview Jvari Monastery that is of the 6th century, Svetistskhoveli Cathedral that is on the UNESCO World Heritage listing. After the sightseeing in the cozy streets of the town Mtskheta we will visit a local restaurant with traditional dishes to have lunch. As we finish with Mtskheta at 2 p.m., we continue our way to the next destination that is Gori. The way from Mtskheta to Gori takes just an hour. At 3 p.m. we arrive in Gori, the first thing that we will do is to visit Uplistsikhe Cave Town. Uplistsikhe literally means Lord’s Fortress that is a fascinating tourist destination that was founded in the late Bronze Age around 1000 BC. As we overview this historically significant spot, we will visit Stalin’s museum that is an interesting historical museum dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin. Right after all of that, we are back to Tbilisi. At 7 p.m. we depart back to Tbilisi. The way from Gori to Tbilisi takes one and a half hour, the whole journey lasts 9 hours.
